April Featured Member of the Month – Jessica Scott

Throughout the year the Kamloops Arts Council profiles a different member or donor, so that you can get to know the diverse and talented community that makes up the KAC. This month we feature Jessica Scott.

How long have you been involved with the Kamloops Arts Council? 3 years now

Why did you get involved? Wanted to be a part of the arts community and connect with other artists

Tell us about your artwork: My paintings are all nature inspired telling a story of the journey from connection between people, to the connection between us and nature, and then the connection from nature to the spiritual world.

What are you looking forward to this upcoming year? A special show or project you’re working on? April 29th Storms on the River is hosting an Art Auction and DJ art show, we will be auctioning off my paintings with 50% of all sales going to the SPCA and another 13% to the WWF to help create protected spaces along the Amazon River.

Why is it important to support the arts? Art has the power to move people, it can engage you and enhance your life.

What would you say to someone who’s considering becoming a member with the Kamloops Arts Council? The KAC is a great way to become a part of all the action in the arts community in Kamloops, its also important to support local organization that give back to the city and make our city even more special!!
