FAQs
How do I know if I’m considered an emerging, established, or youth artist for Art Exposed?
Youth for the purpose of Art Exposed are ages 6-14. Artists 15 and older will answer a few questions on the application form to determine whether they are considered an emerging or established artist for this exhibition.
Is there a chance my art will not get accepted into Art Exposed?
The Kamloops Arts Council focuses on supporting the local art scene at all levels of experience and aims to support all artists. Art works are never turned down because of perceived artistic ability or quality. Artworks will not be accepted if they are culturally appropriative, or contain content deemed inappropriate for the family-friendly gallery spaces. You are welcome to contact us before submitting if you are unsure.
Why does the KAC have specific hanging guidelines?
The KAC is happy to be located in the Old Courthouse, a beautiful heritage building, because of its heritage status the building must be treated with care and cannot be altered. This means we can’t use nails and tacks in the wall the way most galleries do. Instead, we have a track and wire system for hanging the artwork without damaging the walls. This is why we need the work to be prepared in a specific way.
Are sales cash only?
We accept cash, credit, debit, cheque, and e-transfer.
Can I make changes to my application after submission?
No. All submissions are final so make sure to take your time in the application.
