Art In Public Spaces – Sagebrush Theatre

We are thrilled to announce that the Kamloops Arts Council’s Art in Public Spaces (AIPS) program together with The Sagebrush Theatre will be hosting their Spring and Summer show from Thursday, March 28 – Friday, June 28th, 2024.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS AND CRITERIA CAREFULLY:

We would like to invite KAC member artists to submit up to 3 works of their choosing in 2D mediums.(3D is not accepted for AIPS) Works submitted can vary in size. Due to space limitation, anything over 38 inches in width (including frames) cannot be accommodated. This is an open-themed call, however, please only select subject matter that is appropriate for open display to all members of the local community. 

*Please note that all submitted pieces will be subject to jurying for the exhibit.

Deadline for Submissions: Tuesday March 19th, 2024, at midnight

<Criteria>

  1. All submitted works must be two-dimensional in nature.
  2. All pieces must have hanging wire with d-rings attached to the back. (Ready to hang)
  3. Due to space limitations, submitted works should be no more than 38 inches wide including the frame. We regret that 3-dimensional art is not able to be accepted for this installation due to space considerations.
  4. Works that are for sale will be available for purchase through our KAC office or online in the Shop of the KAC website. (kamloopsarts.ca). Any sales will be split with 70% proceeds going to the artist and 30% commission to KAC.
  5. Artists must be current KAC members.
  6. Artists will be encouraged to volunteer for Art intake/installation or strike (take down).

The Kamloops Arts Council office and KAC Main Gallery are located in the city-owned Old Courthouse Cultural Centre at 7 Seymour Street West. We share this wonderful century-old building with the Courthouse Gallery Cooperative and Theatre BC (Mainstage).
