CAF Artist Facilitator Application 2023
ARTIST FACILITATOR APPLICATION 2023
The Children’s Arts Festival is back and better than ever! On Saturday, September 16th, the Kamloops Arts Council will be hosting a fun-filled day of artistic performances and engaging activities in Riverside Park.
If you are interested in being part of the festivities, complete the application below. Thank you for your interest in sharing your time and talents; it’s going to be a wonderful event!
ARTIST FACILITATOR COMMITMENT
- You MUST provide an arts-based activity that is free for children or families.
- Sales of merchandise and/or fundraising are NOT permitted. The objective of the CAF is to enrich our community’s youth (ages 2 and up) by exposing them to a variety of arts.
- You may NOT advertise yourself as an organization or business. Handing out something small, when prompted, like business cards is acceptable. Artist Facilitators are given honorariums for their work under the KAC. If you are looking to advertise your business and donate your time with activities, please see the Community Artist Booth Application HERE.
- You must be an active Kamloops Arts Council member; this is for insurance purposes and your membership is good for 1 year.
We sincerely hope that you will appreciate the value of this opportunity, and we thank you for your interest.
Please note, that applications will go through a selection process. The organizations/businesses chosen are dependent upon the number of submissions received in addition to the variety and quality of activities planned.

You must produce an arts-related activity that fits the Ranches to Rodeos theme and is eco-friendly at your booth from 10am-4pm. The activity must be provided free of charge for the children of our community. The KAC may have a large tent with some activities as well as some 10×10 tents. We will have a limited supply of tents, tables and table coverings. If you are able to bring your own, please do so. Your table and tent must be decorated to go with the theme.
Payment
The agreed-upon amount for your services in your booth for Saturday is $150.00 ($75 each if shared). Cheques may be picked up at the Old Courthouse or mailed to you within 6 weeks of the event. We will contact you with delays.
Supplies and Equipment
Purchased supplies will be reimbursed up to a maximum of $150.00. If you require more than that amount, please email Tiana at events@kamloopsarts.ca for approval before spending. If you know of a business or individual who may want to sponsor your workshop or donate supplies, please let us know! We can issue charitable tax receipts and give them a shout-out through our channels as a supporter of the event. Please bring your own technical equipment if possible as our equipment supply is limited.
Reimbursement
Keep your original receipts and bring them in an envelope with your name and contact information so we can pay you back. No receipt – no reimbursement. Sale receipts must be originals from the retailer – handwritten receipts will NOT be accepted. Note: Purchased supplies will be reimbursed up to a maximum of $150.00. If you require more than that amount, please email Tiana at events@kamloopsarts.ca for approval before spending.
Note: Please read the Covid Response Section below regarding reimbursements.
Covid-19 Response
The Kamloops Arts Council cannot guarantee that all activities, performances, etc., will be possible under future Covid-19 regulations. In the case that further restrictions are needed due to Covid-19 regulations, you must have a backup plan for your workshop/activity.
Please note, as prepared and preventative as we try to be, there remains the possibility that the Children’s Arts Festival may be cancelled under Public Health Orders. This is the worst-case scenario but is entirely possible. In the case of a cancellation, honorariums may not be given. Reimbursements can be requested up to a maximum of $150.00. All payments will be received after the completion of the Children’s Arts Festival.
Criminal Record Check
For Children’s Arts Festival, you are required to complete a vulnerable sector criminal record check as we will be working with children. As you are not employed by the KAC, you will complete a volunteer criminal record check and payment is not required. After you apply, you will be given a letter that can be taken to your nearest RCMP detachment for a request.
