Artistic Exchange – Workshop Networking Event
Join us this January to meet fellow artists and connect with some of the arts organizations that service the Thompson Nicola region! The Kamloops Arts Council is hosting a networking event during the afternoon of January 27th, and we will also be hosting a workshop in the latter half of the afternoon. This is a great opportunity to meet fellow artists and learn more about some of the other organizations that provide arts and culture to the area.

Time: 1:00 – 4:00 pm
Workshops: The Old Courthouse Upstairs Courtroom, 7 Seymour Street West, Kamloops BC.
Network Groups: 10+ coming to the event.
Price: Networking Free, Workshop $5 (Members) $10 (Non-members).
Schedule of Events:
PART 1 – 1:00 – 2:00
- Have each group briefly introduce themselves, what they offer, and where they are located.
- Each group has tables where people can discuss more one-on-one questions and answers.
BREAK 2:00 – 2:30 (set up for workshop)
PART 2 – 2:30 – 4:00 – WORKSHOPS (each presentation 5)
- Stretching demonstration: Help the participants stretch and get a good break before sitting down to learn things.
- Learning How to draw what you see.
- Learning How to See Dance: demonstrating movement and the importance of it.
- Making a book: How to make a book, to be used for taking notes, sketching, etc.
- How to set up a studio space: Examples of what studio spaces could be, the importance of setting aside time/space for your work/practice.
- Setting up an artistic portfolio:
- The importance of light: taking photos of your work/self.
- Set up a mock studio and explain how to do it DIY style.
