“For the Birds” by Fibre Art Network in the KAC Main & Hallway Gallery
The Fibre Art Network (FAN) is a co-operative of Western Canadian artists committed to promoting fibre as an art form and each other as artists. FAN membership includes emerging fibre artists, teachers, authors and judges. Many members have been recognized both nationally and internationally for their work. FAN was inaugurated in 1998. Since then FAN has created 27 exhibitions exhibited at 84 Canadian venues and 7 International venues.
Each artwork in this exhibit is 8” x 8” and is a personal interpretation of the theme For the Birds. It could depict an aspect of a bird’s life, interests and interactions with the world it inhabits, or it might be inspired by a bird-related idiom or adage. For the Birds is a “boxed exhibit”, a collection of small works designed to be loaned to quilt guilds and small venues such as libraries.
This exhibit will be running August 5th to August 14th, 2021.
