About the Artist, Elaine Burns

Elaine is a Canadian painter whose works range from impressionism to landscape. The inspiration for her art comes from nature, all she has seen and experienced. She has taken numerous workshops with professional artists Debbie Lively and Yvonne Reddick. Most recently she has taken course study with the Landscape Atelier, instructed by Deborah Paris. In 2022, Elaine’s work, “The Birds”, was juried by the Canadian Federation of Artists and she was awarded Active Status with the Federation. Oil is Elaine’s preferred medium, lending well to her interpretation of birds, animals and the landscape. About her art, Elaine says “it is my wish to share my vision of the world, with the world, through my paintings”.

Artist Statement, “The Birds”

“All the experiences you have had in your life have led you to one place. The place you are right now, in this very moment. I can’t tell you exactly where “The Birds” came from, other than they came from within me. From my compassion for those who cannot speak for themselves. Our fine feathered friends bring so much joy to my life, the sighting of an animal in the wild, a fish swimming freely upstream. For them, they speak, through this art.” ~ Elaine Burns

Elaine’s show will be exhibited in the main gallery from May 13 to June 4, 2022
