KAC Galleries Request Form

The Kamloops Arts Council is happy to announce that we are now accepting applications from our members for Exhibitions at the Courthouse Galleries for the 2025-2026 seasons!

There are 4 Courthouse galleries available: the Main Gallery; the Hallway Gallery; the Alcove Gallery; and the Vault Gallery.

Options:

Solo Exhibitions: an artist seeking to hold a solo exhibition of their work is eligible to apply for any 1 of our 4 Courthouse galleries. Double bookings for solo exhibitions may be requested but are not guaranteed. *Please note that while all submissions will be considered, priority will be given to those who have not exhibited with KAC over the last two years. Month and year preference for Exhibitions will be requested.

Collective/Group/Society Exhibitions: artist groups (3+ members) are welcome to apply for up to 2 of our 4 Courthouse gallery spaces per exhibition. More space may be granted depending on the circumstances. *Please note that while all submissions will be considered, priority will be given to those who have not exhibited with KAC over the last two years. Month and year preference for Exhibitions will be requested.

Gallery Fees:

Please note that gallery fees are non-refundable and will be paid in full at the time of contract signing/submission

• Hallway, Main, and Alcove: $50

• Vault: $45.

Please note the following: some flexibility for show dates may be necessary; all costs and fees associated with exhibiting will be covered by the applicant(s); special consideration will be given to members of Designated Priority Groups.

Please note: As of 2023, all galleries will be closed for submissions in July and August.

All galleries are located at the Old Courthouse Cultural Centre, 7 Seymour Street West.
Regular Hours: Tuesday-Friday 10 am to 4 pm, Saturday 10 am to 4 pm

Gallery Artwork Amounts:
The Main Gallery holds 20-30 pieces of art.
The Hallway Gallery holds 15-20 pieces of art.
The Alcove Gallery holds 13-17 pieces of art.
The Vault holds 11-17 pieces of art.

ALL DEPEND ON THE SIZE OF THE ARTWORK

All Gallery fees are due upon signing of the contract (not this request). A 30% commission is required on the sale of each piece sold during the scheduled exhibition. Please submit 3 to 6 images that reflect the type of artwork you create and would be interested in exhibiting. These should be examples that reflect your style, not necessarily the exact pieces you would like to include in the exhibition. Please be specific with the mediums you use.

The Kamloops Arts Council office and KAC Main Gallery are located in the city-owned Old Courthouse Cultural Centre at 7 Seymour Street West. We share this wonderful century-old building with the Courthouse Gallery Cooperative and Theatre BC (Mainstage).
