KAMLOOPS ARTS COUNCIL

Volunteer

The Kamloops Arts Council relies heavily on its volunteers. From the 50 or more volunteers needed for Art in the Park – one of our annual events which sees more than 40,000 people through Riverside Park on Canada Day – to ongoing volunteers who work behind the scenes stuffing envelopes and making buttons, the KAC couldn’t do without them.

Benefits of Volunteering with KAC

Volunteering with us can be a great way to gain experience, get involved in the arts community, meet people, and learn something new.

As a volunteer you can play a part in helping us to put the arts, in all its forms, at the heart of our community:

  • Through our programs, we’ll help even more artists launch their careers
  • And through our Crossing Bridges Arts Outreach program, support marginalized and at-risk groups
  • Our programs will bring our community together socially helping to build identity and pride
  • Making the Kamloops area even more attractive to residents, tourists, business and investors
  • And demonstrating the valuable role that the arts plays in building a healthy community.

As a volutneer for Kamloops Arts Council, you really can make a big difference.

What makes KAC volunteers so special?

We feel that there are a few qualities that make our volunteers really stand out from the crowd …

  • They’re friendly and approachable
  • Flexible and resourceful
  • They’re supportive
  • They act with honesty and integrity
  • And they’re reliable and accountable

If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!

Read how 3 amazing KAC volunteers, Lynne Mugford, Melissa Baptiste, and Stephanie Gountas brings all these great qualities to life, earning each of them the Kamloops Arts Council Volunteer of the Year 2016 award.

Volunteer Appreciation

We have so many wonderful volunteers! Each August, we like to say “thank you” for their time, effort and skills by inviting them to our Annual Volunteer Appreciation/AGM.

What type of work do KAC Volunteers do?

We have many volunteer opportunities available, both public-facing and behind the scenes. We’re especially looking for volunteers to support the delivery of our festival programming.
