Trish Kozubski

Full Name: Trish Kozubski

Medium: Digital Art & Photography

How long have you been doing your art: I have always made collages as a child/teen, but branched out the photography in my 20s. I turned it into a business in 2009 so I have been at it for quite a while!

What got you originally interested in the art you do: All art is a way of interpreting, digesting or expressing all the things you sense around you. I am obsessed with creating something out of all the chaos of life, which is probably why I make so many different styles…

What do you enjoy the most about your art: Lately I really enjoy the random community of fellow artists I have made either online or in-person – out of everything that comes with making and putting something out into the world, somehow you end up with this delightful little community of like-minded people and that’s pretty cool.

What is your favourite joke/quote: “Make stuff you love and talk about stuff you love and you’ll attract people who love that kind of stuff. It’s that simple.” -Austin Kleon

What do you think makes art important: Art is a balm against the daily grind, both when creating and when looking at it. It can share an idea, a cause, a laugh etc in a really accessible way.

Why are you a member of the Kamloops Arts Council: I wanted to have a chance to maybe meet more artists and also get my pieces out there more.

What are you looking forward to the most in this upcoming year (A special show or project you’re working on): I am hoping to really dive deeper into video creation/editing, photoshop, marketing and also meeting more creative people.
