KAMLOOPS ARTS COUNCIL

Partnerships

The more arts activities, the more vibrant our community!

We believe in collaboration, not competition — and we support all arts activities in all disciplines in the Kamloops region by helping promote artists & arts events through our newsletters, social media, Online Arts Directory and more.

In order to extend our reach, in addition to the events and programs we produce and our own KAC Grants & Scholarships, the Kamloops Arts Council also supports these great initiatives:

PERFORMING ARTS

Kamloops International Buskers Festival — The KAC has been a supporter of the Annual Kamloops International Buskers Festival since 2018.

FILM

Kamloops Film Festival — The KAC has sponsored the Kamloops Independent Short Shorts (KISS) Emerging Artist Award since 2016.

LITERARY ARTS

Words Alive Kamloops — The KAC was founding producer of this event in 2010. In 2016, the Festival was taken on by the new Kamloops Society for the Written Arts; the KAC remains involved as a proud partner.

MUSIC

The Whole Note — The KAC is pleased to be an initial supporter of The Whole Note, a new community-based music program that assists aspiring youth musicians who face financial barriers to fulfill their passion and potential.

OTHER

Mayor’s Gala for the Arts — The KAC has sponsored the Emerging Artist Award at this annual gala since 2014, a fundraiser for the Kamloops Art Gallery, Kamloops Symphony Orchestra, and Western Canada Theatre. The award comes with a $500 cash prize.
