SMALL//works

Our Great Big, Teeny Tiny Art Show!

SMALL//works is our annual holiday fundraising show; but don’t let the name fool you; this show is anything but small!

This exhibition has a grand variety of small, one of-a-kind original artworks. Support local artists and the Kamloops Arts Council with your purchases of works all priced under $300, and most priced below $100! Running for the month of December, this is the perfect time for gift givers and art collectors to find fun, affordable artwork… Just in time for the holiday season!

Smallworks came to exist as a means to encourage our community members to support locally during the holidays, strengthening our local economy and artists while also supporting the KAC’s annual programming. We welcome all regional artists from all ages and skill levels!

Unlike other fundraisers where artists are asked to donate their work, Smallworks sale proceeds are directed 50% to artists and 50% to the KAC, making it a great opportunity for artists during one of the busiest market seasons of the year, while directly raising funds for our beloved, accessible KAC programs and events such as: Crossing Bridges programming, Children’s Arts Festival, and Artistic Exchanges!

Artists are invited to contribute up to 10 artworks each!

Works can be 2D or 3D and can include paintings, sculptures, jewelry, textiles, photography, etc. All works must be within the dimensions of 200 square inches, including the frames! There is no set theme, we seek art for all!

Smallworks is hosted throughout all of the 4 Old Courthouse gallery spaces, providing plenty of room for over 300 individual pieces of art to await their adoring audiences and forever homes!

Another thing which sets our Smallworks show apart from the rest, is that visitors are able to purchase art right off the wall and walk away with their gift-to-be the same day – no need for patience and waiting for the show’s completion to break out the gift wrap!

Applications are open September through to November, so what are you waiting for?!

NOT AN ARTIST?

Of course, we could not run such a massive and successful event without the help of our dutiful volunteers! We welcome volunteers of all backgrounds and abilities to help support this ever-growing pinnacle of connection, and keep things fun, safe, and running smoothly for our community! Volunteers gain valuable event experience, character references upon request, and a sense of contribution. If you or someone you know would like to give back to your arts community and keep art in the heart of Kamloops events, consider applying today!

Open for Sponsorships
